Don't dismiss the ol' Pareto Principle
Or you end up selling yourself short

I've got a question for you...

Who's the most important person in the world TO YOU. I don't care about anyone else but you <<First Name>>

So, who is it? Who matters most?

I know, many of you are quite smart and know the answer to that question should be YOU, or "I AM!".

I mean, I get it, I'm a husband, so sometimes we're quick to say "my wife is!" and I'm also a parent, and trust me I'd give anything to my kids and yeah, they are the most important people in the world to me.

BUT, if you aren't there because you didn't take care of YOU, the REAL most important person in the world, it's hard to be there for them.

No,no this ISN'T a guilt email, or a "you better start working out so you don't croak early!" email. In fact it's nothing like it at all.

I want to explain to you a strategy, a technique, a way of thinking that will DRASTICALLY increase your results - and not just your workout results, your LIFE results.

This applies to work.
It applies to your relationships.
It applies to your parenting.
It applies to your finances.
It applies to your health.
Heck, it even applies to your down time, your play time.

I'll be the first to say a lot of what I'm about to talk about is highly over-said, and I think that's one of the reasons we tune out to it, but trust me, over-said does not mean APPLIED.

Many things people say over and over again yet have never ONCE applied it.

And let me tell you right out of the gate, if you aren't DOING IT, you don't KNOW IT and it's power.
Let's jump right into some good old cliché's

"Go the extra mile, it's less crowded"
"The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little 'extra'"
  "Apply the Pareto Principle"
  "Follow the 80/20 rule"
"Go all the way, it's never crowded at the top"

What does all this non-sense mean?

Before we get to that, let me being up two points, actual conversation topics I've had both within the past 5 days with clients.

Many of you have vacations planned in the coming months to some hot destination where surely you'll be stripping off those sweaters, long sleeves and pants and opting for bikini's and such... Will you proud or nervous? Are you looking forward to the beach, or secretly dreading it? Will you be confident in your skin, or hiding behind a wall of insecurities?

Many of you have children. I know my kids LOVE going swimming, even in the winter. Do you take your kids to the pool, proud to be a mom/dad yet still able to sport a great body - or do you hesitate to take THEM swimming because YOU don't want to wear a bathing suit? Do you jump and splash around, or do you hang out hidden under water leaving just your head out waiting for it to all be over so you can get dressed again? (Or worst, do you wait on the sidelines wrapped in a towel :(! )

When it comes to your body, your health, the body of your dreams, there's one thing that stands tried and true: Intensity.

Listen, it's my goal, my drive, my mission to see every one of you fit, healthy, athletic, and at YOUR DREAM BODY, your DREAM GOAL.

I don't just want you be okay, I want you to be awesome.

I want more than just "okay".
I don't just want you to be "feeling alright"
I don't just want you to be average. Average sucks.
I don't just want you to be getting by.
I don't want you to just be a bit better.
I want you to wake up feeling amazing.
I want you to KNOW, right down to your bones, that you are meant to be alive and are going to rock it.
I want you to wake up feeling powerful.
I want you to wake up feeling alive, energetic.
I want you to wake up with VITALITY.

When you walk into a room, people are going to know you own it.
You OWN your body, it doesn't own you.
People will know you are confident, confidence shines through.
People will know you are living life on YOUR terms.
People will know you aren't just a pawn, you are in control of your life.

When you see this picture floating around the web, I don't just want you to get an awkward grin of short lived happiness, I want you stand up and say F$%K YEA I AM!

Sorry for the curse lol i felt like it fit good there.

Have you ever woken up in the morning and thought "boom baby, I'm back! What'd I miss??? Man I feel good, let's go conquer the world today and make shit happen!"

"I can't sleep fast enough" is a quote (Harvey Mackay) that should become your moto.

And don't give me this crap about "I just like sleep too much". That's garbage. Anyone who tells me they like sleeping more than living has one heck of a boring and un-eventfull life.

Sure, there are days when I need more sleep than others, but we've all gone to sleep knowing we have something AWESOME happening the next day and found ourselves wide awake the next morning and ready to rock the world no matter how little sleep we got that night.

When life is exciting, fulfilling, thrilling, engaging, and exactly the way YOU WANT IT TO BE, waking up is the EASIEST part.

Okay, back to our bodies.

The first step to having the most incredible life EVER is building a body that can handle it. Nothing sucks more than the brain saying "let's go get em' tiger" and the body replies back "hell no, let's sit a while"

When the kids say let's go swimming, your first though should never be fear about your body.
When your spouse says let's head to Mexico and chill on the beach your first though should never be about how nervous you'll be in a bikini.
In fact, " turning the light's off" shouldn't be the "go to" first move...

You deserve to be proud.
You deserve to be confident.
You deserve to feel sexy.
You deserve to feel fit, healthy, athletic, or what ever words you use to describe YOUR idea of your dream body.

So how do we get there?
How do we do it?

By modifying HOW you are doing things in class.

You see, if ever you've had a chance to watch some of the advanced students you'll notice one thing they all have in common: It doesn't matter WHAT class they are in, they are dead, sweating, stiff and sore.

How is it that those in tip top shape, those who have been here for years, are exhausted at the end of, say, a beginner class????

Let me explain...

But first, I want to remind you that in the Kickboxing classes at night, it's much more challenging for us to "keep cracking the whip" when you trail off to the old habits again...That's the beauty of the Beast Mode program, they are kept as SMALL as possible so that every step of the way we can correct the drills so you get MAXIMUM results, and dropping 15 inches around the waist in only 8 weeks is proof of it's power. (Beast Mode started today!!!!! Yahoo!! Classes are FULL in the morning, 2 spots left in the evening)

The difference is in the little "EXTRA".

Let's go back to the 80/20rule. For those who don't know what it means, it means that 80% of your RESULTS come from 20% of your EFFORT.

And this applies to ALL AREAS OF LIFE. I've played around with this law for several years now and it has NEVER let me down.

Here are 10 simple examples where, with that little EXTRA, you could substantially increase your results.

Standard, plain Jane Squats. We do these all the time, in all types of drills. But if you watch those with the butt you are after, you'll notice that they go about... drum roll now...20% LOWER than nearly everyone else. Assuming of course (and this applies to EVERYTHING) that you can SAFELY do it. I watch the classes all the time, 50 people are squatting, yet only a handful are truly going low enough. And guess what? 80% of that butt shaping you're after is found in that bottom 20% of the squat.
Push Ups: That bottom 2 inches no one ever seems to do, that's where the money is guy's.
Crunches: I've mentioned this multiple times in class... Most people are crunching for nothing, they are wasting their time! You need to give your abs MAXIMUM contraction and SQUEEZE at the top to get 80% of the results.
Bag work: When we're doing ALL OUT cardio rounds, if you aren't going all out, you are leaving 80% of your results on the table. Everyone's going nuts, but there are a few of you that are passing that 20% window and are going ALL OUT, and you guy's are getting the most out of it. Want to know a good sign that you AREN'T going all out? You are yacking, squatting, goofing around, etc, while on the "off" 15s when you should be gasping for air. No, it's not cause you are in tip top shape, it's cause you're slacking!
Weight's: Anytime we do anything that involves weight as a resistance, you'll notice that a handful are always pushing their limits, they are grabbing heavier and heavier every time and thus getting better and better each time. While many of us have been using the SAME 12lb medicine ball for, well, 12 years! Don't kid yourself, it'll always be "hard", but if you are using the same weight day after day, you're results have long subsided.
Stretching: This one needs to be taken slowly, but same thing. You need to push when you stretch. I see so many just "go through the motions" when it's time to stretch and they wonder why they aren't improving. If you're complaining to me that you can't kick to the head, yet goof around when it's time to stretch, that's exactly why.
One Legged Squats: Again, safety first... BUT assuming you CAN do this one safely, you need to go as low as possible to get 80% of your results. Stop as soon as the going get's tough and you'll never get the butt you're after.
Running drills: I really like doing running drills in class. Want to know why? Because I HATE running. That's right. I HATE it. I'd rather hit a bag. Or even skip. BUT I love it because I hate it, and when I push hard during any running drills, I get a REALLY good workout. Don't prance from one end of the gym to the other, if it says RUN, RUN like your life depended on it. Oh wait, it does!
Skipping. A HUGE slacker warm up. WHAT??? No way! Skipping KILLS ME! Nah, it did at first, but once you've got the hang of it, it barely makes you sweat. Unless you hustle. It's funny but when ever the music changes and it gets quiet, I can only hear one or two ropes flying around with intent, the rest, well, they are barely going over lol. It takes hustle while skipping to get what you need out of it.
Lunges. This is the same as squats... If you're knees are healthy and it's safe for YOU, you should be lunging nice and deep.

Okay, I know I sounded like I was "giving you guy's shit" here, but that wasn't the goal, it wasn't the intent.

I want the most for you guy's.

I want you to be proud of your body.

And unfortunately, I WILL NOT lie to you and tell you it'll be easy, or that you can stroll your way through the workouts and it'll be all good.

If you want results, you need to go after them with a vengeance.

You need to buckle up and go after them.

Goals are not for the weak, they are reserved for the strong. (We're not talking about muscles here!)

The fact that you are a member at a KICKBOXING studio tells me right off the bat that deep inside you, you already have the right mentality it takes to CRUSH YOUR GOALS and achieve anything you set you mind too.

For many, it's vacation time.

For the rest of us, trust me summer, no matter how hopeless it may seem, will get here.
And when the snow starts melting, you are TOO LATE to start squatting and sweating to get into your bikini beach ready body.

For all of you in Kickboxing, I look forward to seeing just WHO's read this email and will be taking CHARGE of their workouts, their bodies, by going the extra mile. IT'S WORTH IT!

For those in Beast Mode (AM and PM) I look forward to cracking the whip and making sure, even when you don't feel like it, that you GO the extra mile so that in 8 weeks, you can be PROUD.

See everyone in class :)

To your success

PS - If you are ready to step up, take charge of your body, live life on your terms in your dream body, than I'll see you in Beast Mode so we can step on the "results" accelerator of your life and get your dream body in gear.

YOU are fully capable of amazing things.

I've been wanting to write these newsletter for a little while now, but the club's been getting pretty crazy, and one thing led to the next and oops, it slipped my mind lol.

BUT, last week Koral and I were out of town, and we had a 5 hour drive (one way) to enjoy, so we took the opportunity to catch up on some much needed Jim Rohn philosophies and insights.

For a combined total of roughly 11 hours in a car, we listened to absolutely nothing but Jim Rohn and I realized something: If more people took the time to care about where their life is going, their life would be substantially different.

I mean, just last week I was at Hot 93.5 going through just under 100 applicants for the Hot Fit Freak, and one at a time we pulled up the applications and went through them in order to decide who would be the 3 chosen to compete.

One of the applicants really stuck out, had a great story, lot's of reasons as to why he desperately needed this transformation, etc but yet I didn't give the applicant the time of day and scrapped it in the NO pile.

Because they made one little comment, maybe that they wrote just as a half-joke, that I took seriously. They wrote "The only problem is I can't live without pepsi" and boom, in the no pile it went.

Is it because pepsi is that bad? Nope, not at all.

It was the fact that they were a slave to the pepsi.

Weight loss is not easy.
Weight loss is not a walk in the park.
In fact, any successful person will tell you that reaching any worthwhile goal is always a challenge, that's why so few do it.

It takes true resolve to reach goals. True commitment. And true realization that YOU are in control of YOUR body. Just imagine living your whole life a slave, unable to put down the dang soda.

Now it might be easy to say "ya, that's crazy, as if they can't quit pepsi", but let's not point fingers, we all have our vices. The real damage is NOT what the vice is, the damage is whether it rules you, or you rule it.

So, lately I've been wanting to give a pep talk about motivation, something we ALL need once in a while.

Let me start off by saying there is motivation does NOT last. It needs to be continuously reapplied if you are to keep your momentum. That's why nearly everything that I allow in my Facebook Newsfeed is from positive, motivational sources while I simply "unfollow" everything I don't deem helpful in the attainment of my goals.

When I go on Facebook and browse the newsfeed, I leave happy, motivated and encouraged - not down and out with all the crap in the world and our own city. I ignore anything that isn't helpful.

When I was growing up, my dad continuously preached the value of watching what goes into my mind, from what I see, read, do, hear etc from all sources like friends, radio, tv, books etc.

I don't care what you try and tell me, what goes into your mind DOES have an impact on how you feel, how you act, the decisions you make and, best (or worst) of all... YOUR MOTIVATION.

Listen, let's say your goal is to lose weight, do you not think it would be a great idea to stack the deck IN your favor by putting motivation pictures, quotes etc anywhere you focus your attention??

I mean, if you love Facebook and spend a fair amount of your time browsing the newsfeed, don't you think following fitness/motivational pages is a good idea? And maybe unfollowing a few others?

Anyhow, you wouldn't believe how many times I said to myself "I need to tell my clients this" while listening to Jim Rohn, but, there's just too much to really list, so here's what I've done.

I've found a pretty good size list of his quotes, 50 to be exact, and copy/pasted them below. After each quote (or as I see fit) I'll add a line or two of my own take, or pep talk, to it.

Let's dive right in... (JR's are bold)

Don’t wish it were easier, wish you were better.
It's not the squats that are hard, it's not eating right that's hard, it's not push ups that are hard, it's not cardio that's hard, it's just that you aren't used to it and YOU need to step up. Goals are meant to make us BETTER. In order for you to get better, we have to go through challenges. Playing tennis against someone who sucks at tennis will never make you much better at tennis. It's the adversity of playing against someone far better that makes you grown.

If you don’t like how things are, change it! You’re not a tree.
Thyroid slowing you down? You can blame it and quit, or you can step up and go that much harder. Don't like your reflection? You can pout, or you can say ENOUGH and make shit happen.

Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.

If someone is going down the wrong road, he doesn’t need motivation to speed him up. What he needs is education to turn him around.

Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. You don’t fail overnight. Instead, failure is a few errors in judgement, repeated every day.
Habits make or break you. If you keep repeating a destructive habit, the odds of success are next to zero.

Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion.
Quit saying you're going to do something and not do it! Back in the day, if you lied it cost you your life. Giving your WORD was the standard, and liers had no place. Quit lying to yourself. One you give your word, never break it. You are better than that. And without our word, we are left with very little.

Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.
Don't ever stop learning, and don't even try and feed me (or yourself) and excuses about not having time. I had a 15 minute drive to work today, guess what I was listening too - Tony Robbins. Sure, I would have enjoyed turning my brain off and listening to some good tunes, but I can't do that, I have goals. In fact someone asked me the other day why I was reading another book (after seeing that I had gone through 3 in the past 4 weeks) and my answer was short and sweet: I have goals.

If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.

If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.

It doesn’t matter which side of the fence you get off on sometimes. What matters most is getting off. You cannot make progress without making decisions.

Maturity is the ability to reap without apology and not complain when things don’t go well.

The few who do are the envy of the many who only watch.

The major reason for setting a goal is for what it makes of you to accomplish it. What it makes of you will always be the far greater value than what you get.

The walls we build around us to keep sadness out also keeps out the joy.

Success is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well.
Like squats. Remember my last newsletter? If not go read it. Do that little extra.

Either you run the day or the day runs you.

Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.
You need to get going and don't stop until you don't even think about it, it's just who you are.

Get around people who have something of value to share with you. Their impact will continue to have a significant effect on your life long they have departed.

You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.
The same wind blows on us all, our direction is determined by the set of our own sail. It's not this, it's not that, its you. What ever condition you're blaming for not being where you want to be, I can GUARANTEE you somewhere out there someone has overcame it. And if they could, you could.

You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.

Learn how to separate the majors and the minors. A lot of people don’t do well simply because they major in minor things.

Don’t mistake movement for achievement. It’s easy to get faked out by being busy. The question is: Busy doing what?
Sort of like doing 5 hours of half-ass cardio VS 1 hour of all out intensity!

Learn how to say no. Don’t let your mouth overload your back.

Your personal philosophy is the greatest determining factor in how your life works out.
And my philosophy is simple: Find other people who have achieved what I want to achieve and do what they are doing.

To become financially independent you must turn part of your income into capital; turn capital into enterprise; turn enterprise into profit; turn profit into investment; and turn investment into financial independence.

One of the best places to start to turn your life around is by doing whatever appears on your mental “I should” list.

We can have more than we’ve got because we can become more than we are.

Happiness is not an accident. Nor is it something you wish for. Happiness is something you design.

Your family and your love must be cultivated like a garden. Time, effort, and imagination must be summoned constantly to keep any relationship flourishing and growing.

You must either modify your dreams or magnify your skills.
You can settle or step up.

It’s easy to carry the past as a burden instead of a school. It’s easy to let it overwhelm you instead of educate you.

I find it fascinating that most people plan their vacations with better care than they plan their lives. Perhaps that is because escape is easier than change.
Although it may be easier, it's not worth it. Living life on YOUR terms is worth far more than you can ever imagine. There's a power that comes from it, there's confidence, there's an air of success that comes from it, you become unstoppable, unshakeable.

The ultimate reason for setting goals is to entice you to become the person it takes to achieve them.

Don’t set your goals too low. If you don’t need much, you won’t become much.

Don’t join an easy crowd; you won’t grow. Go where the expectations and the demands to perform are high.

One of the greatest gifts you can give to anyone is the gift of attention.

In America we have the greatest chance for opportunity than anyone else in the past six and a half thousand years. Never in recorded history have so many different gifts from all over the world been deposited in one country.

Economic disaster begins with a philosophy of doing less and wanting more.
Sort of like doing half squats and wanting a firm behind, it just doesn't happen.

The major value in life is not what you get. The major value in life is what you become. That is why I wish to pay fair price for every value. If I have to pay for it or earn it, that makes something of me. If I get it for free, that makes nothing of me.

My father taught me to always do more than you get paid for as an investment in your future.

The worst days of those who enjoy what they do are better than the best days of those who don’t.

Some things you have to do every day. Eating seven apples on Saturday night instead of one a day just isn’t going to get the job done

We must all wage an intense, lifelong battle against the constant downward pull. If we relax, the bugs and weeds of negativity will move into the garden and take away everything of value.

Humility is a virtue; timidity is a disease

Learn how to be happy with what you have while you pursue all that you want.

Humans have the remarkable ability to get exactly what they must have. But there is a difference between a “must” and a “want.”
Life does not reward NEEDS, it rewards DESERVE. You may NEED health to save your life, but if you don't work for it, if you don't put in the effort, you won't deserve it. And life only rewards DESERVE. You reap what you sow.

Make rest a necessity, not an objective. Only rest long enough to gather strength.

We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment.

The worst thing one can do is not to try, to be aware of what one wants and not give in to it, to spend years in silent hurt wondering if something could have materialized – never knowing.

  There, how was that?

There's not a time I go over his materials that I don't leave inspired. And guess what, you now know that if you're low on motivation, head to youtube and find some of his stuff.

Unfortunately, motivation DOES NOT LAST. Why? Because DE-MOTIVATION happens all the time. We are continuously being pulled down to lower standards and unless you decide to take charge of your life, nothing will ever help you.

The good thing is these are LAWS of nature. If you apply the principles, you will reap the rewards. If you don't believe me, you have to first justify your disbelief by giving it a 100% effort for at least 21 days, otherwise you're just guessing ;)

I believe in you, I believe you could do this <<First Name>>. You just need to believe in yourself and understand that there WILL be rough days. I mean, let's face it 95% of the people you will run into every day will be roughly where you are, and NOT where you WANT to be, so guess what, if you really want this you need to step up and believe in yourself MORE than others believe in you.

Have faith, we're all rooting for you.

  To your success,

If you've been around the club for any amount of time, you know one thing stands true: We care deeply about your success. There's rarely a day that goes by that I don't think of you guys, and how I can motivate you, push you, kick you in the butt, encourage, lift up, and inspire you to reach for the stars, to be all that you can be.

We ALL have goals, and I know we all "think" a little differently (I was tempted to end at "a little" ;), but for ME, pictures are a HUGE motivator.

When I'm prepping for a motorcycle race, guess what I do? I go through every dirt biking magazine I can think of.
When I'm prepping for a newsletter, guess what I do? I go through all my quotes (in picture format) on my computer.
When I'm prepping for a workout, guess what i do? ...
When I'm prepping for...

You get the point?

Pictures don't just motivate us, they help us see what's truly possible.

But want to know how to make picuters 500 times more powerful? Make them of someone you know.

And THAT'S how you get motivated, get encouraged, get hopeful ..etc...

I mean, we've all seen tons of before and after pictures, in fact we become numb to them, but when you look at them and see people you know, people that you see in class (and maybe never seen them at their "before" state) you begin to really see what's possible.

I WANT to show you and many others what's truly possible for you, and for that I need YOUR help.

We're looking at creating a "Wall of Fame" at the club of before and after pictures. But not just any pictures, pictures of real people, people that actually came here, people that we've known personally.

Now, above is just a sample of some of the ones you guy's have already sent me, and I have a few more that the photo's are a bit blurry, so here's what I'm asking: IF you feel Family Kickboxing has helped you in any way and you have a BEFORE picture, and either have an AFTER picture, or we can take one here, that you want to share to help inspire others, please feel free to send it my way.

Now keep one thing in mind... When it comes to the pictures, especially the BEFORE pictures, we're not looking for glamor shots, we want people to know how far you've come - which means send in your BIGGEST pictures lol.The ones that show just how hard you've worked.

I know, I know, sometimes it can be a bit uncomfortable to send the before picture, but you should feel proud, you should feel empowered and unstoppable.

You are a force to be reckoned with :)

See you on the Wall of Fame

To your success

PS - Again, thank you very much guys, your photo's DO make a difference in people's lives and how much they really feel is possible for them.
When we were creating the Little Black Dress project, we knew we were creating something totally different, completely new, out of the box with three results in mind: STRONGER, SEXIER, & UNSTOPPABLE.

If you missed the original email, you can read it by clicking HERE.

Well, after that email was sent - something crazy happened. We maxed out in record time.

As it turns out, we were bang on. STRONGER, SEXIER and UNSTOPPABLE is a game changer, and "regular" workouts will never be able to compare.

See, I thought my email was MESSY before, but boy, once I posted that we were SOLD OUT, it got even MESSIER. In fact it got down right ugly LOL.

Turns out there were quite a few disappointing women.

These are women who have had it, who are at a point where enough is enough, who are looking for not just another fitness program, but a support system that's going to get them their dream body while boosting their confidence and giving them an incredible sense of EMPOWERMENT.

Going through the emails, phone calls, and Facebook messages, Kristy and I had a lot to talk about... Were we ready to let down so many women?

As I suspected, she feels the same way I do. She's got a passion for transforming lives, your life, and is willing to run ANOTHER LBD program. Now, granted, I had to do a bit of leg twisting, seeing as this would mean she'd be teaching twice a day, most day's of the week!

But, after some planning, and going over countless powerful inquiries of ladies looking to take charge of their lives and do something for THEM, we decided to go ahead with it.

We will be running a SECOND Little Black Dress Project also starting Monday, July 20th.

This one will run Mon-Wed at 8pm, and Tues-Thur at 7pm (Yes, Tues-Thurs will overlap).

These will be the same program that will help you lose weight, especially troubled spots, tone up the body, tighten up the legs and arms, firm up the butt, sculpt the back, tighten the belly and give you an incredible feeling of empowerment, an UNSTOPPABLE feeling.

AND, this will run at the summer BETA pricing the first group got, $149 + tax (DOUBLING in Sept). BUT, like the first program SPACE IS STRICTLY LIMITED. There will be NO exceptions, and the schedule has ZERO room for a THIRD program!

Now, it's 1030PM right now, and I'm obviously NOT at the office, so calling right now won't get you very far lol.

I fear that we're going to sell out REALLY quick, so the BEST option (right now) to guarantee your spot is by email interact transfer (sent to this email). Second best option is to email me and let me know you want in, and what time you can call/drop in tomorrow. Or email me with your phone number and I will call you first thing in the morning.

I'm excited to announce this, yet scared for my inbox ;)

To your success,

How are your holidays so far?
I don't know about you, so I'll speak for me personally...

On Sunday I got back from a solid week at camp with the family. We had an absolute blast.

Lincoln doing some fishing off the dock.

Baron taking a break from dirt biking.

Boys chasing minnows.

Family board game fun.

Sariah checking if the water is cold.

Eating soup like ninjas.

Lincoln playing with a bass.

Sariah taking a much needed the swing.

These pictures are but a tiny window, a tiny portion of our adventures. In fact there was no reception, which means I didn't have my phone on me, so I didn't take that many pictures - which in a way is crappy, but in another it's amazing because it allowed me, us, to give the kids 100% of our attention.

We ran, swam, peddle biked, kayaked, paddled a rubber dingy, rode dirt bikes, played with four wheeler, ran around with glow-sticks, went for walks, chased minnows, jumped off rocks into the lake, and the list goes on.

Everyone's "life" is different, but for me, being fit and healthy allows me to FULLY enjoy my chosen lifestyle with my family to the MAX.

If I was overweight, tired all the time, drained and without energy, unable to keep up with my kids, constantly stopping to take a break, etc. I wouldn't be happy with myself.

I bust my ass 5 days a week at the club to be able to enjoy the life I WANT with my kids.

But, I'm not here to guilt you into anything, I swear! In fact, I want to confess something with you...

For those 7 days, I ate like total crap.

I had junk food, pop, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, candy, ice cream, wine, and the list goes on.

And guess what, it's BECAUSE I train so hard and eat so well the rest of the year that I was able to do so completely GUILT FREE and with little to NO consequences or effects on my body.

And, as usual when we got back home, it was time to clean things up and get alkaline again.

But this time, things are different.

You see one of the challenges with eating healthy, or having a clean eating routine, and then going nuts for a week eating everything and anything, is that when you get back you might feel like your clean meal plan has gotten "boring" simply because it lacks the junk you just enjoyed.

I feel the same way - so I started searching.... See I own quite a few alkaline cookbooks, but there are a lot of "repeats" or similar meals, and I was getting bored with them so I started looking online for new stuff.

This morning I actually purchased 3 different alkaline programs online looking for new, better recipes to add to my life.

2 were total crap and not even worth mentioning. The internet is an amazing tool, but unfortunately there's a lot of CRAP up for sale, all packaged to sound amazing, yet not worth 2 cents.

The third one was a COMPLETE HOME RUN.

After two total flops, I was pretty skeptical when I saw how good it looks, almost "too good to be true"...

When I bought it (47 bucks, about half a tank of gas or an average meal out at a restaurant lol) and started going through it, I had to share. It's (insert explicit) amazing.

It came with not 1, but 7 recipe books, for a total of 759 pages. Yes, you read that right! Each book is nearly 100 pages long (some more, some less, totaling a powerful 759 pages of awesomeness)

I can guarantee that in future programs I run, I'll be slowly "borrowing" some of these recipes and adding them into my stuff.

Guy's, I'm not going to sit here and preach about why you should eat healthy.

You already know why. You already know how much BETTER life could be.
Life with more energy
Life confident in your own skin
Life in love with your body
Life confident naked
Life wearing what ever the heck you want
Life able to do every activity your kids want you to do
Life happy and confident in the bedroom
Life without chronic lifestyle issues
Life with VITALITY

The choice is 100% yours, it's your life, you are a DIRECT result of your choices.

This book is NOT mine, but if you want to transform your life through freaking awesome meals, you should head HERE and get it for yourself.

You don't have to live tired. You don't have to live sick. You don't have to live overweight. You don't have to live shy. You don't have to live unhappy. You don't have to live unhealthy. And you don't have to be stuck eating crappy disgusting "healthy" recipes. Go get the darn book and make some awesome meals.

That's all :)

To your success

So, I was just notified that this email somehow got jammed and may/may not have gotten sent out. If you did receive it, delete it, if not, read it ;)

Ladies Only!

"I've done [...] and lost 19 pounds. I gained it all back. I then did the [...] and lost 18 pounds and gained almost all of it back. So far with LBD [it's only been 3 weeks!] I have lost 12.6 pounds and 11 inches and it - for me - is by far the most effective program yet! Kristy is AMAZING and super supportive, each class is a challenge and a half but she makes it fun and attainable. Her workouts paired with what I have learned through your kickboxing classes and the TRX class have made every single LBD class a personal challenge and and very effective. The meal plan is realistic and easy to maintain with a busy family too.Thank you for all you do! :)"

"Hi Kristy and Al! Just wanted to give you guys some feedback :)! When I signed up for little black dress, I wasn't sure what to expect. Then I got the email with all of the details and I was completely blown away. The time and effort that you guys put into this program is absolutely incredible. From the workouts right down to the recipes, everything is so well written and so perfectly explained!!
I have been to a few different personal trainers and have followed a few different programs, but NEVER have I ever seen anything like the little black dress project!! Kristy, you are amazing at what you do, inside of our classes and even keeping on top of the Facebook page! You are always so positive and are always there for encouragement.

Last night one of our exercises was the bench press, 10 to 1 add weight as you go, well if Kristy wouldn't of been there I would of maybe put 25lbs on the bars!! Instead Kristy pushed me to my full potential and I benched 100lbs!!! For me that was a HUGE accomplishment. In just three short weeks I feel so much stronger, and I now know that if I really put my mind to it I can do it."

I know it's summer time, I know you have a million and one things to do, I know you're busy, I know you'd rather be enjoying your holidays, I know it's Monday, I know it's raining, I know, I know, I know... But at the end of the day, nothing changes until YOU change - and because of that, I'm writing this for you.

I will do my best to keep this short, but here are the facts.

Nothing changes until you change. If you want to lose weight, you have to change something. The same actions will always deliver the same results. If you want a different result, such as weight loss, you need to establish different actions, different routines, different habits.
Time passes for all of us. Whether you're broke, rich or somewhere in between, we all have the same 24 hours, and there's nothing you can do to stop or slow that time. In a 6 week lapse of time, some of you will gain weight, some will lose weight, some will remain the same, and the choice is always yours to make.
For many of us, me included, we really enjoyed our summer (and will for another 4 weeks), we pigged out, enjoyed our drink of choice, and made the most of the holidays. There's nothing wrong at all with any of that, BUT with all that added junk in our system, simply merging into the back to school season, piling on the added stress, long hours, snack machine meals, etc. many of us will actually GAIN additional weight this fall - UNLESS you do something about it.

I just got this shirt printed the other day, many of you have seen it at hanging at the club and grabbed one right away...

But I received a comment that some may find it offensive. That's true, some can definitely interpret that as offense and well, I'm sorry if you find it offensive, I had no intention to offend, but it is 100% factual, regardless if it's taken personally or not.

Life is NOT stagnant.
Life is NOT standing still.
Life is NOT consistent.

Life is changing at every moment. In fact, the very cells that make up your body are constantly changing and being rejuvenated. Life is movement. Life is, well, LIFE. And life does NOT stand still. Life is constantly moving forward, and unless you take measurable steps to improve, the very nature of life forces you to fall back.

You either improve, or regress - there is NO standing still in life.

Okay, enough of that... I'm not here to guilt anyone into anything. In fact, I HATE snake oil salespeople, arm twisting pressure strategies or misleading info. If you've been around us for the past 12 plus years, you know we're straight shooters and tell it like it is.

As much as many people can greatly benefit from our programs, especially women in the Little Black Dress program, I don't want to be the one to force you into it.

Why? Well for starters our programs always sell out with people who ACTUALLY want to be there, but second, and most importantly, weight loss is a personal choice, and you will only ever lose weight when YOU are ready.

In my experience, lasting weight loss only happens if you reach a point where one, or all, of the following apply...

You feel like enough is enough
You can't go another day wearing your "fat clothes", or NOT fitting into what you want.
You can't stand mirrors, trying on clothes, or even leaving the house.
You hate how you feel, you're energy is down, you're always tired, sluggish, out of breath.
You have no drive, no desire, no motivation. Every day just feels "blah" and you are sick of it.
You are at a point where you either make the change of give up for good and live the rest of your life in quiet desperation, silently wishing things were different.

Sure, that may not apply to everyone, and it may be more dramatic than what applies to you, but let's face it, at the end of the day if you aren't at a point where "enough is enough" and change MUST happen NOW, odds of lasting weight loss are diminished.

You need to be serious about weight loss.
You need to be ready to take on the challenge.
You need to be ready to step up and take charge of your life.
You need to believe in yourself, believe in your goals, and make them happen!

I know, I know... The men keeps asking me when I'm going to run a "Little Black Tux" program... But that won't be any time soon LOL.

For now, I'm here to talk to the ladies, to talk about the Little Black Dress Project.

If you have no clue what it's all about, take 5 minutes and go to for details.

In a nutshell, it is, BY FAR, the best, most detailed, in depth and complete ladies only program I have ever run - and the reviews I'm receiving from it are phenomenal.

If you, or anyone you know is struggling weight loss, is struggling with self-confidence, is struggling with their diet, or is just looking for a solid group of women to bond with and get support, forward this page to them - it could transform their lives forever.

This September, don't just fall back into old habits, old routines, old behaviors. You are not a robot, you are not a machine. Take charge of your life, create the life you want, sculpt the body of your dreams, and make life happen on YOUR terms.

Make this the best "back to school" season ever.

To your success,

This one's a light one :)

It's hard to imagine, but summer is nearing it's end. The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting cooler, soon the leaves will be starting to change color, and the snow will start to fall.

I had an absolutely amazing summer, and I hope you did too!

In the past 2 months, what did you do?

For us, we...

Went for a peddle bike rides...

Went dirt biking...

Ate ice cream...

Picked flowers...

Went fishing...even in the rain

Played in swamps...

Indulged in tasty treats...

Told stories in the rubber dingy...

Built things with our little helpers...

Went frog hunting...

Had picnics...

Visited some water falls...

Made silly faces instead of smiling...

Went hiking...

The list goes on and on...and want to know the best part? That list will remain as busy 356 days a year.
September isn't even officially here yet, and I'm already seeing post on Facebook about how the summer is over, it's back to the grind, no more fun, the world is coming to an end, the rest of the year sucks, blah blah blah.

Honestly, it must be a real drag living 10 months of the year grumpy and waiting for those 2 hopeful summer months. And man, if it's a cold summer, that's it, a whole year is shot.

Hey, I'm not here to tell you how to think, I'm just saying how I feel ;)

I think we could ALL benefit from a bit of positive thinking, or positive outlook, or positive expectations, or "I don't care what time of year it is, life is good because I make it so!" kind of attitude. Give it a try!

Earlier today I shared this on our Facebook (

Sadly, for many of us that's not just a joke, it's our reality.

And, realistically, it's okay :) As long as 1 - you had fun and didn't beat yourself up the whole summer, and 2 - you understand it's time to get back to work!

I've always said this, but the beauty of being fit, healthy and active most of the time, is you can enjoy the off season completely GUILT free.

Now, with an off season comes the "ON" season, the time of year where you focus in like a laser and go after your goals with relentless pursuit and unwavering commitment.

That ON time is NOW.

It's time to get our shit together, and start building our dream bodies.

In fact, right now there are more options than ever before...

There's the Little Black Dress, one of our most praised and highly successful programs EVER run. The results, in just 6 short weeks, are mind blowing. We're talking losing 12-16 inches in just a few weeks. It's insane, it's effective, it's supportive, it's almost sold out ;) head to for details.

And then we have our $1500, 12 Week Weight Loss Challenge. This challenge is always a huge hit for 2 main reasons, 1 - it's incredibly cheap, and 2 - the winner, measured by percentage so it's fair for everyone, get's not only their new smokin' hot body, but 1500 bucks CASH.

Sign up here:

And of course, if you've got children (ages 6-11) and are looking for some of the BEST bonding and family time available, our Family Classes are starting back up this week.

And of course there's the regular classes, with the fall schedule starting up right after Labor Day, September 8th.

You can download a copy of the schedule by clicking HERE or view it below.

A few things that are "in the works" are the fighters class, as well as another in-house 12 week challenge (Winner takes home the pot, this one is for MEMBERS ONLY) If either of these interest you, or you've got something else on your mind, I'd love to hear from you :)

Other then that, that's it!

I've got one more week of summer to enjoy before I start enjoying next week ;)

To your success,

I couldn't believe my eyes...

Good morning <<First Name>>

I really wanted to write this last night, because I felt it couldn't wait, but I had been up and at the club at 3:00 a.m. several days this week putting together the 10 Day Cleanse program and last night I just couldn't keep my eyes open!

But don't worry, I though about this email all night...

I made a BIG mistake yesterday, and I was completely clueless to it for most of the day, until someone messaged me last night to inform me of my mistake.

I immediately panicked, got on my phone, fixed my mistake and checked my emails - and this is when I was blown away.

At first, I was very upset with myself for not paying closer attention and making such an "rookie" mistake - but after going through my email, I realize that because of you, I have nothing to worry about.

You are the absolute best client I've ever had. Yes, YOU!

We've always prided ourselves that we felt we had the "creme of the crop" for clients, the best bunch that exist.

And last yesterday, that feeling was deepened.

You put in the hours, you put in the work, you bust your butt day in and day out, you give it your all in every class, you're continually looking to improve your eating habits, your mental attitude, and your overall being.

And after yesterday, I realize that you really do care - you're superb people, not just good clients. You're good hearted, honest and - a seemingly unlikely thing these days - you have a good, clean conscience.

So what did I do wrong that could possibly have lead to all this praise?

Well, as most of you know I worked day and night putting together the 10 Day Mind And Body Cleanse program for you.

It's an intensive, action packed, information loaded, step by step guide, fully done-for-you program that I am very proud of.

It took many hours to get it all set up, daily motivation emails planned, organized and put into action, grocery list done, meal plan put together, etc.

After all that work, I though you know what? Instead of making this a rather pricy program - like many of our meal programs - I want EVERYONE to be able to afford this. I believe so much in this cleanse and it's power, that I decided to make it dirt cheap.

20 bucks is nothing, heck one lunch out cost much more. I wanted as many people as possible to be able to invest in this, invest in themselves, jump start their weight loss and really FEEL the difference being health, inside and out, makes. How it's truly transformational and WORTH IT.

Then, I announced it was live and posted the link. A few minutes later, the orders started coming in, and the redirect link was jamming a lot - which is annoying - so I started having to copy paste the direct access link (the link with all the download files) into emails to send to those who bought it.

That's where I screwed up...

Along the way, while switching from one screen to the next constantly, I accidentally posted the DIRECT ACCESS LINK in one of the post on the public Facebook page - and I NEVER NOTICED!

What does that mean? It means everyone, well those who saw it, could access all the information for free, all that hard work for, well, nothing lol.

And when a client messaged me to tell me that, it was immediate panic!

Until I checked my email...

That's when I was blown away, my wild nerves were calmed, and I my heart was filled with happy feelings :)

I started going through the email, and there I had quite a few that said something along the lines of this:

I saw the link for the cleanse, and I also noticed you posted the files but I assumed you didn't mean to do that, so I bought it anyways through the first link, can't wait to start!
- Super awesome human being

It would have been SO EASY for people to just go through it, download it, use it, and no one would be the wiser! Including me. The only person that would have known is YOU, but don't worry, the world is in good hands with you, the clients of Family Kickboxing.

So this morning, I have a new look on life, a new hope for humanity ;)

If you have no clue what the heck I'm talking about, that's okay, here's the link, the RIGHT link, to the cleanse page:

Keep it up guy's, I couldn't be more proud

Straight Line To Success

I was watching a short video this morning about success, in all areas of life, and I just had to share something that really stuck with me...

It's a big tougher to explain it in writing, so bear with me and use your imagination a bit... He called it Straight line To Success

Picture a simple chart, or even a line.

At one end, there's YOU. At the other end, there's your GOAL.

Something like this...

YOU -------------------------------------------------------------------------- GOAL

It's really that simple. Now, you'll never hear me say losing weight is EASY, but it is SIMPLE.

You have a goal, you set a plan of action, a course that will lead you to the goal, and you go for it all out UNTIL you reach it.

Let's say you want to lose weight, you decide you're going to cut out all junk food, and work out three times a week.

Now, all you have to do, literally, is cut out all junk food and work out 3 times a week and bam, you'll get there.

That's actually not a bad plan AT ALL! But that's not what people do...

Instead, people start working out and eating better, and then decide hey maybe I should try this instead, or maybe I'll only do twice a week, okay maybe a bit of junk food is okay, heck it's my birthday, or maybe one cheat meal a day isn't that bad, maybe I'll just take this meal replacement shake instead of eating healthy, maybe, maybe, maybe...

And next thing you know, they aren't following their STRAIGHT LINE to success anymore, they aren't following their action plan, their own map to success.

They end up all over the place, way off course, and usually end of going backwards.

Actually, I drew this on my phone for you to help illustrate...:)

I know, I should have autographed it

Had you just stuck to the blue line, to the goal, to the action plan you set out in the first place, UNTIL you reached your goal, it would have been far simpler. Instead we end up all over the place, giving up and trying everything in the book (the red line) making our journey substantially harder on ourselves, and much longer, and often that just discourages us and we end up going backwards (the black line).

And the worst part is many blame the blue line for their lack of success.

The classes are too crowded
I don't like sweating
I can't give up chocolate
It's too hot
I prefer working out at 11pm and you don't have classes at that time
I work for a living, heaven forbid I can find any time at all to workout
I can't stomach vegetables
I can never give up coffee
I love ice cream too much to give up
I don't want to risk hurting myself, i'll just sit on the couch where it's safe

all I see are red line stories - instead of blue line action.

If you want to reach your goal, if you want to one of the ones who MAKE IT, who TRANSFORM, who LIVE LIFE ON THEIR TERMS, you need to make a plan and stick to it.

Commitment has NO conditions, no what ifs, no take backs, no get out of jail free cards.

When you set that goal, don't give up, don't let yourself down, ever.

Become someone who achieves, who does what they say, who sticks to their goals, who's word means something.

You've got the stuff in you, you've got what it takes, you have the tools in front of you, now stick to the blue line!

You can do it, you've got this, keep at it.

To your success,

P.S.: One last thing...

As most of you know I've been writing these "motivational", or more like "kick you in the ass and get you to go after your goals with relentless pursuit" newsletters for years now - and many of you have saved, printed, re-read, been touched, pumped up and driven by these emails.

Without sounding like I'm just tooting my own horn, over the years many of you have told me, countless times, how powerful and helpful these newsletters have been for you.

That got me thinking...

My goal, my passion, my mission in life is to reach more people, and help more people go after their dreams and achieve more. And one of the ways I do this is through my newsletter.

I've spent the past 3 months combing through hundreds of my newsletters, and put the absolute BEST of them into a book.

And you can get your hands on it first - before the rest of the world does ;) by clicking here:

Now, this is still in it's EARLY stages, and I'm sure still has it's fair share of errors, but it's looking pretty darn good if I say so myself.

This book, aptly called You VS You, is 219 pages of non stop motivation, kicks in the ass, pick me ups and YOU CAN DO IT talk.

It's only 18 bucks, and you'll be added to a list to receive all future updates for FREE.

Not only will this book be the absolute best tool for driving you to do what needs to be done when you really don't feel like it, but you are doing ME a huge favor. This is only the early stages of this project, and it's only in digital format, and with your help, your spelling corrections, ect., I'll eventually be able to get this out in print.

Oh, and before I forget (because I don't feel like answering a thousand emails) when you click PayPal, and follow through, DON'T CLOSE THE WINDOW, when it's done, it'll send you to the page where you can download the book. If you come across any challenges, email me at (or by replying to this email)

Thanks in advance :) This book is all because of you, had I not had to kick your butt into gear, I never would have had to write all these newsletters, now turned into a book ;)

This one's for the ladies only... I need YOUR help with some questions....

As most of you know, the Little Black Dress program has been, and still is a HUGE hit, drawing packed classes and incredible results...

But I'm still getting a lot of emails from disappointed women... Women who can't attend because of four main reasons...

1 - They live out of town, too far, etc.
2 - They can't make the times because of work, family etc.
3 - The can't get away from the house, no sitter, etc.
4 - They can't afford it, 300 bucks for 6 weeks is a LOT of cash.

And, those are ALL great reasons...

But, I want to help. I hate getting heartfelt emails from people who are reaching out for help, but nothing I have fits...

So that got me thinking, what I did a fully "at home", online based program like the Little Black Dress.

Would that interest you?

If so, would you take a few minutes and help me out? I mean, if i'm going to undertake such a massive project like a home study program, I want to make sure I've got everything covered...

Here are my initial thoughts from a very short conversation with Kristy about this program...

In order to keep the price real low, it would be a monthly subscription, an online membership club, that would would only be something like 30 or 40 bucks a month.
It would include a rotating meal plan, changed monthly, where we add new recipes each month to avoid it from getting boring or repetitive and keep it fresh and effective for fat loss.
It would include a rotating workout plan, with new routines, workouts, etc. uploaded each month to keep the body striving towards maximum results.
It would include pdf copies of the workouts, as well as instructional videos, from Kristy herself, on how to do the exercises.
It would include exercises from all types of programs, many that will not require any exercise equipment at all, some with basic equipment, and a few with advanced gear for those who have/want it.
it would have a monthly or bi-monthly LIVE webinar where people can ask questions and get instant answers (like a seminar but online so people all over can join)
It would include a members only online forum for the ultimate support system. I know those NOT in LBD don't see it, but we have a closed Facebook group for them and the amount of post, comments, questions, support, encouragement etc. that goes on is amazing.

Like I said, those are just initial thoughts...

What do you think?

I want to make this as perfect as possible, so here are some, well, more personal questions for you.. It's probably easier if you just copy paste the questions into an email, and answer each below it and send it to me. Don't worry, I'll be keeping this 100% confidential.

Essentially, my goal is to really get to know you, to appreciate you, to understand you at a deeper level so I know exactly what you need in a program to SUCCEED where you may have failed before.

So, let's jump in...

1 - What is preventing you from succeeding right now, or has in the past? Why aren't you at your goal?
2 - What kind of workouts do you prefer? Would like to see?
3 - What kind of meal plan do you want? Types of food? How in depth do you want it? Grocery list and everything done for you?
4 - What type of motivation do you need to keep you going? Phone call check ins, daily emails, Facebook post?
5 - What has worked for you in the past?
6 - What did you enjoy the most from it?
7 - What goals are most important to you? Thinner arms, firm behind, flat stomach, nice back, etc.?
8 - 30 bucks a month, too much, not enough, just right?
9 - Is rotating 4 week meal plans okay? Or do you want to know 12 weeks ahead?
10 - What else do you need? If I could send you a "guaranteed success formula kit" what would it include? Recommended music? Motivation?
11 - What do you need differently in a program now versus say 10, 20, 30 years ago?
12 - What am I missing?

I know that may seem like a lot, but it would be really helpful and I would be forever in your debt!

Ideally, this would be a program to help ladies from anywhere, so if you know someone who could help out and would find this interesting, please forward this along!

Again, thank you very much

To your success

PS - In case I didn't make it clear, KRISTY will be doing all the videos, not me LOL

The Real Difference Maker

Do you remember that newsletter I wrote a couple months ago called You Are Powerful?

If not, you can reread it HERE. In fact, EVERYONE should take a minute and reread it. Actually read it every single day.

The basis of that email was simple: You are 100% responsible for your own life. Not me, not your parents, not your teachers, not your boss, not your friends, not the government, nothing but YOU is responsible for YOU.

There's no way around that.

But here's the thing... It doesn't end there, in fact, it only STARTS there.

I've been going back and fourth with a guy now for about 3 weeks (via email) because he wants to start class and lose weight. He's shy, he rarely leaves the house, he's obese, he's scared to start, he's got a million and one questions, and that's all OKAY.

There's nothing wrong with that at all.

BUT, there comes a point where enough is enough, and you need to make a darn decision and ACT on it.

ACTION is the difference maker. Action is what separates success from failure.

ACTION is what will get you to where you want to go. ACTION is what makes shit happen.

Does that mean you have to jump blindly into everything? Not at all. The difference between successful people and, well, failures is ACTION, not information. You see, many people have weak decisions making skills. Once you've got all, or enough, information to make a decision, it's time to MAKE ONE, DECIDE and ACT.

Like this gentlemen I've been going back and fourth with... There's literally NOTHING more I could tell him about the club, what's possible for him, how well he'll be treated, the support he'll receive, etc. But, he's still sitting at home, waiting to start.

ACTION is the only thing missing here.

One of my favorite tv shows is Shark Tank. Now I don't even have cable because I don't watch much of the Tube anyways, but when it's on Netflix I'll enjoy a few episodes, i mean seasons, in one sitting... and want to know what I've noticed?

Often, it doesn't matter what the product is, what's truly important is the PERSON, and how much ACTION they've taken. If they come in with a great product but haven't even made one messily phone call, the investors get pissed off. But if someone comes to them with an average product, but the entrepreneur has done a million and one things and has gotten some traction, that's a man of action that they would be more than willing to back with their money.

It does NOT matter what area of life you're talking about, what situation you're in, ACTION is the difference maker.

And want to know the best part about ACTION? If you take the wrong action, you'll get immediate feedback and be able to learn, adjust and act again!

Standing still won't teach you anything except that life is PASSING YOU BY.

Don't wait, ACT.

Take charge of your life and become a person of ACTION and life will reward you

The missing link

"Those who don't make time for regular exercise will eventually have to make time for illness " -Edward Stanley

This newsletters a bit different than usual... I spent part of today chatting with someone that lost a family member...
I want to start off by saying this: You CAN learn from your own experiences, but that is the MOST expensive way.

In all areas of life, business, sports, education, you name it, it's well know that you can shorten your learning curve by learning from the mistakes of others. Someone else has already paid the price for you, now learn from it. In fact, it's almost insulting not to learn from the lesson they paid for.

Don't get me wrong, one way to learn to do something right is to do it wrong first, but this isn't your bank account or something that can be replenished, when it comes to health, it's your life you're gambling with. Why not stack the deck IN your favor?

Don't know where to start? Well, look at all the people who have bodies in shapes you DON'T want to have, and avoid their habits. Model the masters.

Let's face it, getting in shape, getting healthy is SIMPLE. (Note, I didn't say EASY - getting fit, sexy and healthy is HARD WORK, and that's why it's worth it, and that's why so FEW are where they want to be.) Regardless of how hard it is, it's worth it. But, like I was saying, the path is SIMPLE. Nutrition is simple, exercising is simple.

It doesn't matter what your circumstances are, if you want it bad enough, if enough is enough, I can show you how to change, I can get the result in you.

So, what's missing?

If it's so easy, why isn't everyone fit, sexy, healthy, athletic, etc?

Two big things are missing... and they go hand in hand.

Motivation and Consistency.

Let me just say one thing right off the bat... CONSISTENCY is CHARACTER. It's who you are. It's what sets you apart. It's what makes your word mean something. It's the difference between someone who says they are going to commit - and does NO MATTER WHAT, and someone who quits when the going gets tough. Again, consistency is character.

And want to know what sucks? This whole "start-stop-start-stop" thing (especially around New Years) is a HUGE killer of progress.

Remember guy's, no struggle, no progress.

The choices you make, make you. And, surprise, the choice is yours.

You can live the life of your dreams, of you can live lives of quite desperation.

Want to know why people eventually stop trying and give up? It has nothing to do with will power or anything like that - it's cause with every failed attempt, with every "give up" their self confidence, their self esteem takes a hit.

Only a few of those failures and man, this shit ain't fun anymore :(!

Want to know the ultimate cure? RESOLVE to stick to your goals. RESOLVE to make your word mean something. RESOLVE to live by your plan, and not your feelings.

Listen, everyone's so obsessed with how they feel, and trust me, that's holding you back. There are times when I don't FEEL like working out, and guess what? I work out. Why? Because I made a plan to and I have goals to reach, no time to waste.

One of the BEST ways to build your confidence and self esteem is to DO what you say you are going to DO!

Be HARD on yourself, and life will be easier on you. Be EASY on yourself, and life will be infinitely harder.

When I was growing up, dad always told me that I should be harder on myself than anyone else. I should demand more of myself at every moment..

Now now, don't get it twisted! I am NOT saying to be hard on yourself in a NEGATIVE sense, that would be highly demoralizing - yet that's what many do, they beat themselves up!

What I mean is I always raise the bar, I tell myself I'm better than this, I can do this, I don't settle, I step up, I rise, I go for it, I got this.

Too tired to work? No, I got this, I have goals, I have plans, and I am sticking to my plan.
Too tired to play with the kids? Too bad, pull up your pants and start chasing them, I demand more from myself - my kids deserve it.
Too tired to workout? Tough, I didn't take a break from eating, so I'm not taking a break from working out.

I think you get it lol.

My feelings don't dictate my life, my goals do. I plan my life, I don't let life happen to me.

Like Tony Robbins sais: It's in the moment of decision your destiny is shaped

And guess what, 99% of the time, it's not the MAJOR decisions that change your destiny, it's the little ones, like choosing NOT to workout, or choosing to over indulge, etc, added one over the other, that changes your destiny.

I challenge you to step up and decide exactly where you want to go, what you want to do, how you want to live your life and than STICK TO THE PLAN.

Sure, the approach might change, you need to be flexible in your approach, but definite in your destination.

Fuzzy goals? Odds of success are next to zip. You need to be absolutely clear on what you want for yourself. If you don't know where you are going I can guarantee you that you will end up somewhere else.

Like Peter Voogd says "The most important thing you should protect at all times is your standards. Don't let them slip up!"

Remember, lack of consistency is the subtle but great killer of dreams.

With New Years upon us, everywhere I turn someones talking about New Years resolutions, and everyone on Facebook is commenting about it, or business giving their "come to us, we'll make your dreams come true!!!!" but let's face it, YOU, and only you can ever make YOUR dreams come true.

Don't join the heard blabbing about what you're going to try and do for 1 week or two this January. It's not going to work. In fact, if you want to have fun, save everyone elses resolutions that they posted on Facebook and reshare their post a few weeks from now asking for an update ;) Okay, don't do that you'll lose some friends lol

Here's my challenge to you, get ultimate CLARITY on what you want. Don't just write something silly on a napkin like "get fit" or "lose weight". Be specific, be exact, put dates down, do it right.

If you're going to take the time to do it, might as well do it right.

Actually, here's a little goal pack to get you started on the right foot: GOAL PACK

Once you've gotten your goals down, you need to follow that up with consistent action. NEVER leave the site of a goal without doing something towards it's attainment.

You've got this.

Make 2015 you're BEST year yet.

The year you STEP UP.
The year you do what needs to be done.
The year you GET WHAT YOU WANT.
The year you get what you DESERVE.
Th year you declare "I DID IT"

This is a fresh start.
This is a clean slate.

Regardless of past failed attempts, 2015 is YOUR YEAR.

I believe in you, now step up and make things happen. If you have a hard time with your goal setting, or have questions, you know how to reach me.

To your success,
